UFST Field Equipment
Task Specialists use GPS equipment to record tree location and attributes.
GPS units and handheld data recorders are used to collect data on trees assessed. UFST crews have been trained on and use a variety of equipment. In this photo John Slater (AR) uses a Cresent GPS unit (backpack) and Archer data recorder running SOLOforest software. Drew Arnn (VA) holds a Ricoh GPS enabled camera for photo documentation in the parks.
