UFST Brooksville Storm Scenario Exercise (GIS Layers)

This map shows GPS points (i.e. trees) collected by the Task Specialist workshop teams in Brooksville, Florida.

This PDF map includes the ArcGIS feature (v9.3.1) that allows viewers to turn various layers on & off for printing. Version 9 of Adobe Reader is required for this feature. See www.esri.com for more details on map sharing via PDF.

Acrobat Reader Quick Start:

When the PDF is opened in Acrobat Reader, click on the Layer icon or the Model Tree icon at the left to open the document navigation panel (if not open). In the Layer section you may make various layers visible or invisible as desired. In the Model Tree section you can view specific tree attributes (use the Tool/Analysis/Object Data Tool from the menu to select a specific tree) or highlight a map number in the expandable list. If you select a zoom % (e.g. 125%) from the toolbar any tree selected will be highlighted. You may also enter a map number into the search box to locate a tree.

Unique map numbers were created from the crew number (i.e. 1 through 8) and the unique feature (tree) number created by your GPS (i.e. sequential order of data collection). So for crew 6, their 23rd tree is map number 6023. Crew 1's 104th tree is map number 1104.

Note About Assessments:

The data collected for these trees is based on a simulated storm exercise and does not represent actual tree condiitons or risk assessments. The storm scenario in Brooksville was for training purposes only.
