UFORE Post-storm Plot Assessment Form

This form is used to reassess established UFORE plots after a storm. The data from this form will be compared to the original plot data.

The objective of the assessment will be to measure the effects of hurricanes on a network of permanent, random , 0.10 acre, urban forest structure plots located in 4 study sites: Miami-Dade County (238 plots), Tampa (201 plots),  Gainesville (93 plots) and Pensacola (75 plots).  Plots were accessed with permission of homeowners and plot centers have been recorded on GIS and with GPS, Aerial photos, field form paper copies using distance-direction to permanent objects (Buildings fire hydrants, sewer caps) and digital photos of plot centers.  Since these plots are permanent and all trees have been measured and land/home owner contact has been established, this reduces the immediacy of re-measuring plots, but allows for a precise measurement of pre and post hurricane effects on urban forest structure.
